Pair sought in auto detailer robbery

A Bustleton-based auto detailer found himself in a scene reminiscent of a James Bond film after two men posing as police officers robbed him of $1,200 cash last Saturday night.

The owner freed himself from zip-ties, jumped from a second-floor window and ran to a parking lot, only to see his assailants speeding away in a dark vehicle.

The crime occurred at about 8 p.m. at DTMS Detailing on the 100 block of Geiger Road, police said. The victim was in an upstairs office when he heard two men enter the shop and announce themselves as “cops.” The intruders went upstairs, pointed a gun at the victim, bound his wrists behind his back and demanded money and drugs. They grabbed his wallet containing the cash.

The robbers then went downstairs to the shop seeking more cash, but found none, police said, so they fled.

One crook was described as white, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 27 to 32 years old, with a black hoodie, black baseball cap, dark jeans, orange gloves and a black handgun. The other was described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 200 pounds, 27 to 32 years old, with a black hoodie and gloves. Call 215–686-TIPS to report information. ••
